Lake Pat Cleburne is located in the southwestern edge of Cleburne. The lake serves as the principle source of water for Cleburne and has over 1,500 surface acres. Four boat ramps are conveniently located around the lake. Recreational activities at and around the lake include a municipal golf course, swimming (at your own risk, no life guards on duty), boating, picnicking and fishing.

The lake is an excellent location for bird watching. Of note, pelicans and bald eagles have been observed during migratory periods. Lake Pat Cleburne is also the site of Cleburne's annual 4th of July celebration. A dynamic fireworks display may be observed each year as the fireworks are launched from the dam. Thousands of spectators enjoy the display from every vantage point from boats to rooftops.

Cleburne State Park

Cleburne State Park is a 528-acre park that encompasses a lively 116-acre, spring-fed lake. Located southwest of Fort Worth, in Johnson County, the park was acquired from the city of Cleburne and private owners in 1935-36 and was opened in 1938. Cleburne State Park mountain bike trails offer 5.5 miles of beautiful scenery with a variety of challenges for all experience levels.

The terrain on the trail is as diverse as the hills. You will experience treacherous down hills, fast smooth flats, and everything in between. The technical and wooded trails form an entire loop that has made this trail one of the favorites for mountain bikers in training or for those who enjoy a challenging ride. The trail will test your skills and endurance and is well worth your time!

Fishing and boating on the clear blue waters of Cedar Lake or picnicking at one of the many picnic tables is a wonderful way to spend the day with your family. Campsites facing the lake are available as well.

Hamm Creek County Park

6957 W F M Rd 916, Rio Vista, Texas 76093

This beautiful county park is located on the Brazos River with beautiful limestone bluffs on one side and sandy shores on the other. These meandering bluffs eliminate windy conditions, making the water like glass. For this reason the area has been recognized several times in the Texas Skiers Magazine as one of the top ten places for river skiing in Texas.

The park is in the process of major renovations, having just completed a new two lane boat ramp with parking to accommodate about 50 boat trailers. There are 30 new picnic shelters at the park with five family sites, two large pavilions that will accommodate large groups of 200 each and two more restrooms.

The park contains 31 campsites (21 pull-throughs and 10 back ins) all with 50 Amp electrical and water, a dump station, 10 equestrian pads with electrical and water and two restrooms with showers. This beautiful park is one of the best kept secrets in Texas so be sure to check it out when in Cleburne.
